Ozena Cheek Myers

Ozena Cheek Myers 89 beloved mother and grandmother passed away Thursday morning September 3, 2015 at Abbotts Creek Care & Rehab. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at New Vision Baptist Worship Center on Hampton Road, Clemmons with Pastor Jason Holley, Pastor Tracy Webb and Rev. Dr. Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Ozena will lie in state one hour prior to the service and the family will greet friends after the service in the fellowship hall. Ozena was born in Wilkes County on September 2, 1926 to Ellie Rea Cheek and Mary Gentry Cheek. She had worked at Fairchild Industries and was a member of New Vision Baptist Worship Center. Ozena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willian “Bill” Waters Myers (2010), two brothers, Clemon and Willard Cheek and two sisters, Mary Burke and Geneva Sisk. Surviving are three sons, William Kermit Myers of Clemmons, Billy Michael Myers of Lexington, Vernon Keith Myers of Winston-Salem; three daughters, Annette Myers Dillard, Vannecia Myers Garner, Regina Myers Stevens all of Lexington; a brother, Reverant Felman Cheek of N. Wilkesboro; sisters, Rose Hanes of New York, Edna Norman (Paul) of Thurmond, Naomi Billings (Marvin) of N. Wilkesboro; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Memorials may be made to Welcome Lions Club, 175 Holiday Drive, Welcome, NC 27374. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
