Pansy Kearns Earnhardt, age 87, of Linwood Southmont Road, died Wednesday December 21, 2011, at her home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Doug McGee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday, December 23, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mrs. Earnhardt was born May 23, 1923, in Davidson County, to Rosco Numan Kearns and Mattie Owens Kearns. She was retired from Linwood Dixie Furniture. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Earnhardt; a son Butch Earnhardt; and sister Irene Stutts.
Surviving are two sons, Gerald Earnhardt and wife Kim of Georgia, and Donald Earnhardt and wife Nancy of Salisbury; three daughters, Gayle Langley and husband, Roland, of Lexington, Sharon Waller of West Virginia and Pam Hooks of Kannapolis; ten grandchildren, RL Langley and wife, Donna, Lamar Langley and wife, Lisa, Tammy Garvey and husband, Jeff, all of Lexington, Kim Earnhardt, Tracy Earnhardt, both of Greensboro, Donnie Earnhardt Jr. of Concord, Chandler Hooks, Mason Hooks, both of Kannapolis, Alda Rodriguez and Jennifer Earnhardt, both of Florida; eight great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren.
