Mrs. Emma Patterson Leonard “Pat” Myers, 76, of Rowe Road, died Monday, April 15 at the Hinkle Hospice House after declining health.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 19, 2013 at Reeds Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Davidson Funeral Home
Mrs. Myers was born October 21, 1936 in Davidson County to Shelly W. Leonard and Mary Edna Gouger Leonard. She graduated from Reeds High School in 1955 as Valedictorian, and from NC Women’s College in 1959. She was a teacher for 31 years, retiring from Davidson County Schools. She was an active member of Reeds Baptist Church, where she had served as Sunday School Superintendent and a member of the choir. Pat volunteered at Lexington Memorial Hospital and helped to establish the Tyro branch of the Davidson County Library. Her brother, Rodney Leonard, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, J. Edward Myers of the home; her son, J. Edward Myers, Jr. and wife, Misty of Lexington; her daughter, Mary Len Myers Cutter and husband, Jack of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Falon Myers, Riley Myers, Jackson Cutter, Corinne Cutter; and her brother, Steve Leonard of Wiggins, MS.
