Patricia Bowers

Mrs. Patricia Owens Bowers, 74, of Highway 47, died Friday, February 10 at Forsyth Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 PM Monday at Holloways Baptist Church with a memorial service to follow. They will also receive friends at the home on Highway 47. Patricia “Pat” Owens was born November 23, 1937 in Davidson County to Olin Iven and Audrey Loretta Owens. She was a graduate of Lexington High School and retired from PPG Industries. She was married to Kenneth Bowers on January 14, 1956. She was an avid quilter who loved to share them with friends and family. She also loved collecting cookbooks. Her parents and three sisters, Judith Genora Owen, Donese Annie Hunt, and Brenda Jean Giarolo, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth Bowers of the home; her son, Derek Bowers, and wife, Cindy; her daughter, Kendall Eller and husband, Johnny; her grandchildren, Jason Bowers, Brett Bowers, John-Adam Eller, and Korbin Eller, all of whom she loved and adored; her brother, Denny Owens, and wife, Kaye; her brother in law, Harold Hunt; and six nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National M.S. Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163. The family would like to thank the Specialty Hospital of Forsyth Medical Center, especially the staff of the sixth floor, who took such loving care of her.
