Patricia Gurley

Patricia Koonts Gurley Wallace, 52, of Linwood, went home to be with Jesus, June 25, 2021. She passed away at Forsyth Hospital after a brief illness. Patricia was born March 18, 1969 in Rowan County, NC to Venice and George Koonts. Tricia graduated from West Davidson High School in 1987. After attending Davidson County Community College in Lexington, NC, she worked as a CNA for 13 years throughout Davidson County. Patricia was a devoted Christian who attended several churches; Psalms 91, First Wesleyan, and Crosspoint, all of Lexington. She loved her husband and family very much. She had a beautiful soul and always saw the best in everyone never gave up hope and was a prayer warrior. She will be missed dearly by those whose lives she touched with her love.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 7th at Cross Point Church with Rev. Michael Greer officating.  Burial will follow at Psalm 91 Church in Lexington.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind many loved ones; husband, James Wallace of Linwood; children, Slade Gurley of Lexington, Ian Strunk of Lexington and step son, Justin Wallace of Lexington. Daughters; Cody Gurley (Chad Evans) of Mocksville, Cara Gurley and husband Casey Wright and step daughter, Jade Wallace (James Burleson) of Lexington. Grandchildren; Haiden and Sawyer of TN, Cloe, Joey and Casi of Mocksville and Collin, Serenity, Anne, and Conner of Lexington. Step-grandchildren Gunnar and Chloe. She was blessed to be the godmother of Kayla Wingfield(Chris Fine)of Durham, Eric Wingfield(Elizabeth) of Spartanburg, SC, Kevin Wingfield of Millen, GA, and god-grandchildren Kynleigh & Laela and Bryan of SC, whose mother was best friends with Tricia, from childhood, Lori Bowens (William), Lexington. Tricia was a precious sister and aunt as well, to Larry Koonts of Lexington and nephew Justin Koonts (Meghan) of  Lexington. Niece, Miranda Odom (Caleb) of Lexington, Braydon & Ophelia, and Tamara McKnight(Stephen) of Pamplico, SC. Nephew Christian McKnight of Pamplico, SC, niece Elizabeth McKnight(Eric Stone) of Pamplico, SC, Elijah & Alaska, and nephew Stephen McKnight Jr of Pamplico, SC. Patricia was a niece, cousin, great-cousin, and beautiful friend to many who will miss her shining light in the world. She will always be loved, forever missed but never forgotten.
