Patricia Jo Murphy Nifong

Patricia Jo Murphy Nifong, 76, of Hickory Tree Road, Winston-Salem passed away on Friday evening (12-19-2014) at her home. A visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at Hebron United Church of Christ, where she was a member, prior to the service to celebrate her life at 3 p.m. on Monday 12-22-2014 by Rev. Paula Wells, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends other times at the home. Mrs. Nifong “Pat” was born in Davidson County on November 14, 1938 to Arthur Clifton Murphy Sr. and Cathern Ensley Murphy. She was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 30 years in the Clerical/Bookkeeping Dept. She enjoyed working in her yard and flowers and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Jasper Earl Nifong Jr. of the home; her son Earl Dodd Nifong (friend Kandi) of Winston-Salem; brother Clifton Murphy Jr. (Harriette) of Lexington; three grandchildren, Ryan Nifong (Mariah) of Fort Bragg NC, Forrest Nifong of Thomasville and Belle Nifong of Winston-Salem; great grandson, Ryan David Nifong; nieces, Tammy Beck (Christopher) and Christie Perrell (Jeffrey) and her very special dog “Lady”. Memorials can be made to Hebron United Church of Christ, 129 Hebron Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107, or of the donor’s choice. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
