Patricia Raker Phillips, 86, of Lexington passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, at Beacon Place in Greensboro.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 15, 2022, in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Pastor Tommy Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will be held in the Lexington City Cemetery.
Pat was born on February 7, 1936, to the late Mabel Grimes Raker and William Grant Raker. Pat grew up on Second Avenue in Lexington surrounded by her sweet Aunts and Grandmother. Upon graduating from Lexington Senior High, she attended Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina. She raised her family in Lexington where they all attended First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Charity League and her “Best Friends” bridge club. Pat’s greatest loves were her family and friends and especially her grandchildren. To say she spoiled them was an understatement. She loved having her family over for Sunday dinners and nothing topped her annual Christmas Eve party after the church candlelight service. Pat lived out her faith by being there and always taking care of those around her. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Raker; her sister, Elizabeth Grimes Raker; and her granddaughter, Erin Phillips.
Pat is survived by her three children, Ashley Wall (Ernie Manuel) of Greensboro, Jay Phillips (Kelley) of Albemarle, and Catherine Nettles (Troy) of Greensboro; six grandchildren, Braxton Wall (Katherine), Kellyn Barger, Jillian Stallings (Vic), Fletcher Wall, Carr Nettles, and Claire Nettles; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to Beacon Place at 2502 Summit Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405-4522.
