Lexington

Patricia “Tricia” Lynn (Berrier) Royster passed away peacefully on January 23rd, 2026, at age 80, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, surrounded by her three children.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm Friday, February 6 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Randy Hall, followed by a celebration of life at a nearby location. To honor Tricia's vibrant spirit, the family welcomes you to wear bright or light-colored clothing.

Tricia was born March 24,1945 in Greensboro, NC. She graduated from Lexington Senior High School in 1963 and NC Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1966. After her children were born, she co-owned a consignment shop for several years, taking joy in selecting the perfect “Ms. Noah” stuffed animals for her shop. She did return to nursing for many years and then gave the ultimate gift as a full-time caregiver for her husband, Ted.

As her friends and family know, Tricia was energetic, fun-loving, and tenacious. She loved her dogs, birds, gardening, and was proud to be a Master Gardener. During Christmas, her favorite holiday, she left no surface undecorated, to the delight of her grandkids. She was a gifted entertainer and was grateful for her abundant good friends, who have supported her in good times and during her own illness. Tricia was known as “Nana” by her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Tricia was preceded in death by husband Theodore S. Royster, Jr., parents Cicero Hubert Berrier and Bobbie Gwendolyn Hinkle, and brother Frank Berrier. She is survived by her three children Courtney Bui, Allison West, and Brian Lewis, stepson Tad Royster, stepson James Royster and wife Raquel, grandchildren Ava, Audrey and Ian Bui, Taylor and Ella Kate West, Malia Lewis, and James Royster, and good friend Ritchie Lewis.

To honor Tricia’s love of animals, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Humane Society of Davidson County, PO Box 1791, Lexington, NC 27293-1791.
