Patrick William Nordan

Patrick William Nordan, 43, of High Point, NC, passed away Tuesday August 25, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with depression.

Family and friends have chosen not to focus on his death, but instead to celebrate the way his life touched others.

Patrick had a kind, loving, and thoughtful heart. The joy and love of his life was his daughter Lyla. He was a devoted father that always made time for her. Lyla was his heart.

He loved children, as was evidenced by his obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Education from UNC Greensboro. He taught at both, Archdale and Tyro Elementary schools, for over 15 years before accepting a position to teach robotics. He loved his job working at BrickEd in Salibury, NC, where he taught children of all ages about robotics. His other loves were soccer and Harry Potter.

When Patrick was around everyone knew it because he was always doing something to create hilarious chaos.

He is survived by his sweet daughter Lyla; his friend and previous spouse, Dana Nordan; his mother and father Diane and Jerry Frye, of Lexington, NC; two sisters, Jamey Jackson and Leslie Frye; two brothers, Eric and Clint Frye; grandmother, Janie Livengood of Lexington; his dog, Dobbie, and his guinea pig, Squeeks, and numerous family and friends that all loved him dearly.

Preceding him in death was his father, James R. Nordan.

The family will recieve friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 with his funeral following at 2:00 PM at Currytown Baptist Church 7740 N. North Carolina Hwy 150, Lexington, NC with Dr. Michael McDaniel officiating. There will be no graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Currytown Baptist Church Youth Program or to your local mental health association.
