Patsy Phillips Miller, 80, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at Pilgrim Reformed Church of Lexington, with Rev. Richard Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation after the service, at the church. Patsy was born on February 2, 1943, to the late Morris and Jimmie Phillips, in Bassett, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Miller Sr., and brothers, Jack, Jim, and Dan Phillips. She is survived by her sons, Donald Miller, Jr. (Cindy) of Kernersville, and Guy Miller (Angie) of Lexington; four grandchildren, Gray Reynolds, of Lexington, Cathryn Pennington (Daniel), of Wilmington, Jessica Macdougall (Josh), of Portland, Oregon, and Ian Macdougall, of Belews Creek; lifelong friend, Brenda Barton, of Saint Cloud, Florida; and (7) niece and nephews that she loved like her own children. The foundations for how Patsy lived her life were the teachings of Proverbs 22:6. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”. She was a dedicated and loving mother and spending time with her grandchildren was the highlight of her days. She devoted almost 40 years of her life to teaching in the Davidson County school system. It was a job she truly loved. She was an instructional assistant and substitute teacher from September 1979 – March 2020. She started working in Linwood school, moved to Southwood Elementary, and finished her career at Stoner Thomas. She touched the lives of thousands of students and developed long lasting memories and friendships. Patsy was a member of Pilgrim Reformed Church for the majority of her life.
