Pattie Harlow Stokes, 97, of Brookstone Retirement Center, formerly of Lake Street, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at the retirement center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stokes was born June 5, 1914, in Halifax County, to William Rhodum Harlow and Alice Barnes Harlow. She was of the Baptist faith and had been employed with Wennonah Mill for 26 years prior to retirement. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow H. Stokes, who died November 4, 1998; four brothers; one sister; and one grandson.
Surviving are sons, Donald E. Stokes and wife, Martha, of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Michael W. Stokes and wife, Kaye, of Concord; eight grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
