Lexington

Patricia “Patty” Langdon Smith, 75, passed away Saturday morning, March 21, 2026, at Novant Medical Center, in Forysth County.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

Patty was born on January 9, 1951, in Hampstead, NY, to the late Robert Millard Langdon and Lillian Viola Howell Langdon. Before retirement, she worked in textiles and later for Cato Fashions.

She loved to travel and took every chance she could to do so, enjoying cruises to the Bahamas and Alaska, trips to Hawaii, and many other places. Her favorite destination was Mazatlán, Mexico. Each year, she looked forward to a week at North Myrtle Beach, where the whole family stayed together in a beach house. Those trips meant a lot to her, especially the time spent with loved ones during Happy Hour, where there was always laughter and good company.

She also loved Elvis and his music and made it a point to see her favorite Elvis impersonator, Stephen Freeman, whenever she could. Above all, she loved her family and was always there for them in every way possible. She shared 50 years of marriage with her husband, building a life centered on love and commitment. Known as “Granny” and “Mama Pat,” she welcomed not only her own family but many others as well, becoming a mother and grandmother to all her bonus kids and bonus grandkids.

Along with her parents, she is reunited in death with her beloved husband, Glenn Wayne Smith; brother, Robert Millard Langdon Jr. and sister, Hope Langdon.

Left to carry her light are her children, Linda Tysinger (Sterling), Ronnell Penny (John), Stephanie Weller (Jeremy), all of Lexington; brothers, Reed Langdon (Gloria), of Winston-Salem, Raymond Langdon (Linda), of Racine, WI, Richard Langdon (Sheila), of Island Park, NY, and John Langdon (Joyce), of High Point; sister, Roseanne Roberson, of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Haley Comer (Wesley), Karsyn Tysinger “Wild Child”, Loren Penny, Kyleigh Weller, Korbin Weller, Raelynn Smith, Mitchell Penny, and Dustin Penny; great grandchildren, Jeremiah Penny, Jaz-lyn Penny, Oaklynn Comer, Matthew Comer, Chazz Penny, Cooper Penny, and Charleigh Penny; and precious fur baby, June June.
