Paul Edward “Eddie” Allred, Jr., 88, of Lexington NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 21, 2025.
Born on April 1, 1937, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Reverend Paul and Florice Allred, Eddie was guided throughout is life by faith, family, music, and service. On December 8, 1957, he married the love of his life, Jemmietta Redwine. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared more than six decades of love and devotion.
Eddie proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Army and carried that same spirit of dedication into every area of his life. A gifted singer, Eddie was part of a deeply musical family. He sang with the Quartet if Central Wesleyan College, the men’s quartet of First United Methodist Church, and was a longtime and devoted member of the First United Methodist Church Choir.
Professionally, Eddie devoted many decades to G.W. Mountcastle Agency, Inc., where through hard work and determination he rose through the ranks of co-owner and played a key role in helping build and grow the company. His commitment to excellence, integrity, and leadership left a lasting mark on colleagues and the organization he proudly served.
In addition to his professional and musical contributions, Eddie was deeply committed to his community. He served in leadership roles with many local organizations, including the Jaycees, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Lexington Memorial Hospital, the salvation Army, and the United Methodist Men of First United Methodist Church. His Presence, wisdom, and service touched countless lives in Lexington and beyond.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jemmietta; daughter, Catherine Michael; son, Christopher Allred and wife Raeannn; and six grandchildren, Lindsey and husband Mick Longo, Kacie Allred, Jordan Michael, Erinn Allred, Madison Allred, and Holt Biesecker. Eddie was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Parker and Hudson, who brought his endless joy in his later years.
Eddie leaves behind a legacy as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His love, faith, music, and values will continue to live on through the family and friends who cherished him.
Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church, Lexington, on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 12:00–2:00 PM Friends and loved ones are warmly invited to join the family in remembering and celebrating Eddie’s Life.
