Paul Dewey Carlton, 99, formerly of Maxwell Drive, died Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Lexington Health Care Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Carlton was born April 17, 1913, in Catawba County, to Mack Theodore Carlton and Esther Eller Carlton. He was a retired insurance salesman for American General Life Insurance and a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Josephine Davis Carlton, who died May 26, 2001; and a grandson, Craig Carlton.
Surviving are son, Jerry Carlton and wife, Ann, of Mayodan; daughters, Rebecca Perkins and husband, Rev. Jerry Perkins, of Lampasas, Texas, and Saundra Shepard and husband, Geoffrey, of Rose Valley, Pa.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
