Paul Edward Harris

Paul Edward Harris, age 83 of Star Drive, Lexington passed away Monday evening at Hinkle Hospice House after 2 years of declining health. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday morning (May 7, 2015) at Arrington Heights Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Robinson officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday night and at other times at the home. Paul was born in Jackson County, NC August 9, 1931 to John William Harris and Carrie Miller Harris. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Madison Heights Free Will Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Proctor & Schwartz; preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosetta Mathis Harris of the home; daughter, Sherry Harris Payne (Mark) of Lexington; sons, Richard Wayne Harris (Dana) of Lexington and Tony Edward Harris of the home; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosie Tolly of Sylva, NC and Evelyn Holmes (Charlie) of Lexington.
