Paul Alexander Laxton, 66, of First Rainbow Street, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Hospice of High Point after a serious illness of one week.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel by the Rev. Kenneth Deal. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Laxton was born July 20, 1942, in Mecklenburg County to Fornie Moore Laxton and Annie Bell Little Laxton. He was a custodian at Brian Center in Lexington and attended New Life Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Laxton.
Surviving are a son, Jeff Laxton of Lexington; three grandchildren, Cody Laxton, Amber Laxton and Megan Laxton; five brothers, Jack Laxton and his wife, Ruby, and Bob Laxton and his wife, Margaret, all of Albemarle, Ernie Laxton and his wife, Bessie, of Lexington, Jerry "Nook" Laxton and his wife, Nancy, of Spencer, and Curt Laxton of Rockingham; and a sister, Joyce Perdue and her husband, Bobby.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home of his sister, Joyce Perdue, 332 Russell St.
