Paul Edward Starr

Paul Starr, 70, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Hinkle Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 3:00 PM, at Bethany United Methodist Church, with Rev. Michelle Hill officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Paul was born on July 10, 1953, in Davidson County to the late Fred Bryce Starr and Elsie Coppley Starr.

He worked for many years with Proctor and Schwartz and later went on to retire from the City of Lexington. Paul was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and was known for his talent of baking wonderful cakes. He would bake for the church's Poor Man's Supper and BBQ Chicken sales, Smokey Joe's, and for his family and friends.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Barry.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Vickie Starr; nephew Kevin Starr (Debbie); niece, Karin Starr; and great nephew great nieces, Max Bosko, Macie Starr, and Reese Starr; and close friends, Richard and Patsy, Jamie, and Faye.
