Paul Leon Swicegood

Paul Leon Swicegood,80, of Lexington, passed away October 27, 2022, at his home in Lexington.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Shiloh United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with Ryan Mendenhall officiating, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday night at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Old Hwy 64, Lexington.

Mr. Swicegood was born September 15, 1942, in Davidson County, to W. Paul Swicegood and Alma Koonts Swicegood. Leon was a devoted member of the church where he served on the board of directors. Loved to hunt, fish with his son and grandson, was a volunteer firefighter with Reeds Fire Dept., having over 30 years of service, and as fire chief for 7 years. Leon was a brick mason by trade with 30 years. Then retiring as maintenance supervisor at DCCC. His passion was his faith, church, family and especially his pride and joy grandson. Leon was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be missed by all.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy Curry Swicegood of the home, his son, Dale Swicegood and wife, Kim of Lexington; his pride and joy grandson, Matthew Swicegood of Lexington; sisters, Mary Ella Giles and Carolyn Smith and husband Steve all of Lexington, and several nieces and nephews.
