Paul Walter Cucciardo, age 79 of Woodhaven Drive, Lexington passed away Tuesday night (July 21, 2015) at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday (July 25, 2015) in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Al Gondek officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park, with Military honors by Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday night. Paul was born in Cambria County, PA to Anthony M. and Irene Paul Cucciardo. He was of the Catholic Faith; retired Vice-President of Operations for J & S Trucking; veteran of the US Navy service during the Korean War; member of American Legion Post 0034 and VFW Post 2889 both in Rock Hill, SC,; Elks Lodge 406 of Blairsville, PA and was a Mason and member of Lexington Memorial Lodge 473. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lucretia Cucciardo; grandson, Aryton Platt and infant brother, Patrick Cucciardo. Surviving are his wife, Sara Glanc Cucciardo of the home; daughters, Cynthia DeLuca (William) of Tampa, FL, Veronica Jellison (David) of Ft. Myers, FL and Paula Pittman (Doug) of Blairsville, PA; son, Robert Cucciardo (Joyce) of White Hall, WI; step-daughter, Stacy Garrison (Donnie) of Lexington; step-sons, Gregory Wagner (Amy) of Pleasant Garden and Thomas Wagner (Kelley) of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Kovacik (Alphonse) of Blairsville, PA, Theresa Conway and Victoria Cucciardo both of Johnstown, PA and Christine Lorenz (Helmut) of Burke, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 4A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407 or American Heart Association, PO Box 5216, Glen-Allen, VA 23058-5216.
