Paul William Wright, 78, of Lexington, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at his home following a sudden illness.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015, at First Alliance Church where he was a member, with the Rev. Al Boesenberg officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites by Lexington Memorial Masonic Lodge 473. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
Mr. Wright was born April 19, 1936, in McDowell County, to William Burdette “WB” Wright and Geneva Vess Wright. He was retired from Stroh’s Brewery where he had been a supervisor. He attended Davidson County Community College, was a master beekeeper, a member of NC Beekeepers Association and Davidson County BeeKeepers Association and a member of Lexington Masonic Lodge 473 where he was past Master of Lodge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Leroy Wright; and sisters, Janie Laxton and Doris Wright.
Surviving are his loving wife Betty Lucille Tussey Wright of Lexington; son, David Keith “Bub” Wright and wife Kelly of Lexington; daughters, Paula Wright Bailey and husband Terry of Lexington and Michelle Wright and husband Benji Caywood of Franklinton; four grandchildren, Katie Hartley and husband Jason, Abby Adamson and husband Tyler, Brett Bailey and wife Susan, and Megan Tolbert and husband William; and sister, Wanda Wyatt and husband Gurney of Lexington.
