Pauline Minnie Bowen

Pauline Minnie Bowen, 82, of S. NC Highway 150, died Tuesday afternoon at her home, following an illness of six months. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Fundamental Baptist Tabernacle Church by Pastor Chris Lanning. Mrs. Bowen was born in McDowell County on April 24, 1925, to Williard Whitson and Ada Whitson. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her sons, James Bowen and Michael Bowen; brothers, Carl Whitson, Paul Whitson, and Earl Whitson. Surviving are her husband, Joyce Earl Bowen; sons, Joseph D. Bowen of Lexington and Paul Bowen of Michigan; daughters, Peggy Bowen of Michigan and Ginney Bowen of Chicago, Il; sister, Gertrude Morris and husband, Streley, of Etowah, NC; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the home on Highway 150.
