Pauline "Polly" Woodburn

Pauline “Polly” Woodburn, age 97 of West Fourth Avenue Lexington passed away Tuesday March 6, 2018 at the home of her nephew. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Church of God, West Fourth Avenue with Revs. Rodney Merrill and Darcy Abbott officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Polly was born in Harnett County, NC April 4, 1920 to Neal Rufus Avery and Ada Gertrude Byrd Avery. She was a graduate of Lee College, a homemaker and a member of Church of God West Fourth Avenue where she was active for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard E. Woodburn; sisters, Wilhelmina (Virgie) Wicker and Pansy Junkins; brothers, Neal Junior Avery and Sherrill R. Avery. Surviving are her sister, Dorothy Johnson of Lexington; hosts of nieces and nephews.
