Pearl Mae Jarvis Carlton

Pearl Mae Jarvis Carlton, 95, of Alston Brook, passed peacefully from this world, Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the nursing home. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Ken Harris, T.W. Bailey and Dr. Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at which time the family will receive friends. Pearl was born May 24, 1919, in Davie County, to Robert Lee Jarvis and Carrie Davis Jarvis. She was a former employee of Parkdale Mill and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and the Maranatha Sunday school class. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hobert Carlton; two sisters, Ethel Eudy and Lucille Forshee; and two brothers, Paul Jarvis and Floyd Jarvis. Surviving are son, Wayne Jarvis and wife Linda of Welcome; two sisters, Ruby Leonard of Lexington and Eva Shaw and husband Ralph also of Lexington. She is also survived by numerous dearly loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staffs at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living, Alston Brook Nursing Home and Hospice of Davidson County.
