Pearl Elizabeth Williams Coleman, age 99 Sherwood Road, Lexington, and formerly of Rainbow Street died Thursday December 17, 2009 at the Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington after being in declining health for one year.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 19, 2009 at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Rev. Frankie Matthews and Pastor Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Coleman was born in Rowan County February 27, 1910 to George Henry Williams and Bessie Elizabeth Rainey Williams. She was retired from Erlanger Mills and a life member of Sheets Memorial Baptist. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert Coleman and a daughter; Frances Coleman.
Surviving are her sons, Paul Coleman and wife Frances, Albert William Coleman and wife Annette both of Lexington; Earl Coleman of Welcome, and Gene Coleman and wife Linda of Denton, Daughters, Elizabeth Ann Coleman Leonard and husband Richard of Reeds; Myrtle Coleman Hatcher, Carrie Coleman Koontz, and Nancy Coleman Canady all of Lexington, sisters, Nora Nichols, and Irene Johnson both of Salisbury. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home on Sherwood Road, Lexington.
