Pearl West Haire

August 24, 1922 — January 12, 2009

Pearl West Haire, age 86 of Redwine St., Lexington passed away Monday, January 12, 2009, at Lexington Health Care. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, in DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Rev. Randy Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Haire was born August 24, 1922 in Stanly County, to Levi Haire and Mary Morris Haire. She was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church, and a retired employee of PPG. After retirement, she taught basic education classes in the County through DCCC for three years. She was a volunteer with Lexington Memorial Hospital, Davidson County Social Services and the Senior Center. She was honored with the Governor’s Award for outstanding Volunteer Services and was recognized as “Our Neighbor” in Lexington Dispatch. She was also a member of the Senior Rainbow Club. Preceding her in death was her husband, James Leonard Haire, in 1988, and a son, Jimmy Haire, in 2008. Surviving are sons: Joe Haire and wife Linda of Clark Range, TN; Jerry Haire of Kure Beach, NC; a daughter, Joyce Snider and husband U.S. of Lexington; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; daughter in law, Julia Haire of Lexington; a special friend, Earl Ketner and a special Care Giver, Tammy Branham. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am Thursday, prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home.
