Henry Clay "Pee Wee" Atkins Jr., 60, of Wren Boulevard, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Revs. Thomas H. Todd and Steven Manley. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Atkins was born March 30, 1946, in Davidson County to Henry Clay Atkins Sr. and Margaret McCarn Atkins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from PPG Industries after 36 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his special companion, Jennie Young Atkins of Lexington; three daughters, Erica Story and her husband, Ryan, and Shannon Atkins, all of Lexington, and Kimberly Ludwig and her husband, John, of Florida; three grandchildren, Dylan Story, Brett Basquez and Austin Basquez; two brothers, Terry Atkins and Tony Adkins, both of Lexington; and a special friend, Charlie Blounte of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
