Peggy Leatherman Adkins

Peggy Leatherman Adkins, age 80, went home to her Lord and Savior on January 26, 2026. She was born on May 16, 1945 in Lexington, North Carolina to the late Johnny Leatherman and Ruby Sink Leatherman (Goodnight). Peggy was a devoted member of Greater Vision Freewill Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Peggy’s life exemplified a true reflection of Christ in her selfless interest considering others, (Philippians 2:4) often times ahead of her own.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry David Adkins.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons: John David Adkins (Renee) and Michael Shane Adkins. Grandchildren: Cody Adkins (Hannah), Chad Adkins (Kiyoshi), Alex Adkins, Emily Adkins, Madison Clodfelter. Two great-granddaughters: Olive and Oakleigh

Peggy loved her circle of friends and simply enjoyed their company and fellowship. Our family would like to personally thank all of you who sacrificed your time and resources ensuring Mom’s needs were met. Thanks for always including her in many other special times. Just know your love and labor was cherished by her and a blessing to our family.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later time.
