Peggy Hartman Bryant

Peggy Hartman Bryant, 88, of Lexington, passed away December 23, 2023, at Davidson Health and Rehab in Lexington.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Friendship Church of Lexington, where she was a member, with the Rev Steve Hardy officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 pm before the service at the church, and burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Peggy was born January 31, 1935, to Dr. Alfred Pleasant Hartman and Virginia Byerly Hartman. Peggy was a devoted member of the church and the church family. Her passion was her faith, church family and especially her children and grandchildren, she was a graduate of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and Catawba College. She loved to cook and work with her flowers.  Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Alfred Pleasant “Al” Hartman Jr.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, James Bryant, sons, Slim Bryant (Jane), Joe Bryant (April), John Bryant (Ann), and Jerry Bryant (Jean), all of Lexington. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Rachel Langevin (Eric), Savannah Bryant (Fiancé Nathan Shoe), Laura Hoeschel (Ben), Jed Bryant, Luke Bryant, Jayce Bryant, Abby Bryant, Parker Bryant, and one great grandchild Ellen (due in April).

In lieu of flowers, family has asked that memorials be made to Friendship Church of Lexington, 2840 Friendship Church Rd., Lexington, NC 27295.
