Peggy Darr

Peggy Sowers Darr, 87, of Welcome, went home to meet the Lord Tuesday, May 19 ^th 2020. A private graveside service will be held at First Baptist Church of Welcome Cemetery conducted by Pastor Jonathan Goodman.

Mrs. Darr was born on April 20, 1933 in Davidson County to Conard Ray Sowers and Precious Jenkins Sowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Marion Sowers (Annie); and sisters, Doris Davis (Joe) and Ruby Jean Moseley (Joe).

Not only was Peggy a devoted, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, but she also served her church and community preparing meals, delivering meals on wheels, keeping children, and teaching Sunday School. Peggy will remain in our hearts forever.

Surviving are her loving husband, Carey Darr Sr., of 66 years; her children, Precious Darelyn Darr Mitsch (Barry) of Cary, Nikki Darr Schmalfeldt (Scott) of Charlotte, Billy Darr of Oxford, and Terry Darr (Gina) of Lexington; and her brother, Tommy Sowers (Rosemary) of Lexington. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Kristie, Scott, Jessica, Hank, Courtney, Brandon, and Conard, three great grandchildern; C. J., Christian and Beau.
