Peggy Joyce Essick

Peggy Joyce Essick, age 67 of The Oaks of Thomasville, formerly of Old Highway 64 West, Lexington passed away peacefully Tuesday at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday (5-16-2009) at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, with Rev. Kenneth Marshburn officiating. Peggy was born in Carteret County, New Jersey, June 6, 1941 to Samuel McCoy Wood and Jessie Shaw Wood. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Beverly Wood Phillips. Surviving are: three daughters, Libby Beck, Charlotte West, and husband Kenny, Amanda Pullum, and husband Walter all of Lexington; three grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth Simpson, husband Jessi, Ricky Leo Beck and William Tanner West; one great granddaughter, Kaden Lorelle Simpson; three sisters, Frankie Wood Burrow of Charlotte, Samantha Jean Wood of Linwood and Linda Wood Spearman of Nashville, TN; one brother Raymond Lynn Wood of Prescott, AZ. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home following the service.
