Peggy Leonard

Peggy Louise Phillips Leonard, 76, of Arnold Road, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Her funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Reedy Creek Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member, by the Rev. Egbert Craven Jr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Arnold Road. Mrs. Leonard was born in Davidson County on March 23, 1934, to Roy E. "Buck" Phillips and Lillie Swicegood Phillips. She was retired from Dixie Furniture with more than 20 years of service. She loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, C.A. Leonard, and a brother, Sandy Phillips. She is survived by two sons who loved her dearly, Doug Leonard and wife Penny and Terry Leonard and wife Robin, all of Lexington; three grandchildren, Dustin Leonard, Tera Leonard and Marc Murphy and wife Lynn; three great-grandchildren, Hayden Cobb, Drew Murphy and Kaden Murphy; three sisters, Vivian Walser, Brenda Faye Leonard and husband Jerry and Carolyn Mobley and husband Brian; two brothers, Buford Phillips and wife Carol and June Phillips and wife Annette; one sister-in-law, Betty Barney and husband George; a very special niece, Wendy Motsinger; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Palliative Care and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
