Peggy Sue Pickle Leonard, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2024.

A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with Revs. Jim Luck and Paula Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Mrs. Leonard was born in Davidson County on April 22, 1930, to Clyde Odell Pickle and Pauline Snider Pickle. She was a dedicated self-employed dietician and a devoted pastor's wife, offering her unwavering support to her husband, Rev. Dr. Billy Joe Leonard, who served at Second United Church of Christ for many years. Peggy was a cherished member of the church community and will be remembered for her kindness and faith. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the Rev. Dr. Billy Joe Leonard, and her brother, Bill Pickle.

A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Peggy's family was the center of her world. She is survived by her children, Steve Leonard (Genie), Mark Leonard (Tanzy), Todd Leonard (Tracey), Jody Spivey (Guy), and Amy Smith (Britt). Her legacy continues through her fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory dear.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292, or to Second UCC, 521 East Center Street Suite E, Lexington, NC 27292.
