Peggy Conrad Swicegood

Peggy Conrad Swicegood, 92, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday March 28, 2022 at her home.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday April 3, 2022 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Scott and Rev. Judge Jimmy Myers officiating service with interment to follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.

Mrs. Swicegood was born July 9, 1929 in Davidson County to William Henry Conrad and Hattie Isabelle Hege Conrad. She was preceded by her parents; five brothers Virgil Conrad, Lawrence Conrad, Jim Conrad, Lee Conrad Sr. and Bruce Conrad and three sisters, Margaret Hendrix, Hazel Wilhoit and Martha Conrad.

Surviving is her husband, Clayton Eugene Swicegood of the home; three daughters, Joan Harris, Amy Hartman, and Lori Blevins (Randy) all of Lexington; a brother, Edward Max Conrad of Virginia; two sisters Barbara Owen of Lexington and Jane Palmer (Hap) of South Carolina; 3 grandchildren, Jordan Harris (Amanda), Bill Brooks (Becky) and Matt Harris (Lauren) and 6 great-grandchildren, Lillian, Joseph, Emma, Hannah, Shelby, and Hattie. She was also blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins, “adopted” family and special friends from every aspect of life.
