Penny Brooker Rendle, 55, of Broadway Street, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at her home after a long illness.
The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Tyro United Methodist Church by the Revs. Claude Kayler and Tim Roberts.
Mrs. Rendle was born Oct. 24, 1950, in Syracuse, N.Y. to Gordon and Ruth Wallace Brooker. She was an alumna of High Point University and a freelance writer. Her father preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband, George Rendle of the home; a stepson, Chris Rendle and his wife, Jenny, of Plymouth, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Lisa Knight and her husband, Tom, of Sarasota, Fla.; her mother of Central Square, N.Y.; a brother, DeForest Brooker and his wife, Jeanne of West Monroe, N.Y.; a nephew, Chris Brooker and his wife, Kara, of Liverpool, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Jaclynn, Harrison, Chase, Juliana and Riley Rendle, and Hailey and Hunter Knight; and two loyal canine companions, Tyler and Missy.
The family will receive friends after the memorial service.
