Perry Phillips

Perry Anderson Phillips, age 84 of Becky Hill road, Lexington died Sunday night at Silas Creek Manor. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday at Friendship United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Tim Miller-Chaplain of Hospice of Davidson County, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Perry was born in Davidson County January 17, 1924 to Lee Roy Phillips and Myrtle Shoaf Phillips. He attended Reeds School, a retired employee of Lexington Furniture, member of Friendship United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 162. He was a PFC of the US Army during World War II serving with Company A, 275th Combat Engineering Division and the 75th Infantry Division. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn Kepley Phillips, April 3, 1999, brothers Hoke Phillips, Lloyd Phillips and Arvil Phillips. Surviving are: two daughters; Barbara (Dean) McCrary husband Benny of Lexington and Beverly Phillips Essick of Kernersville, one Granddaughter; Anna Parks DeHart and husband Keith of Lexington, one sister; Wilda Mae Everhart of Lexington, two brothers; Clifford Phillips and Paul Phillips both of Lexington; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Kepley of Welcome. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, PO Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293 or to Friendship United Methodist Church, 2840 Friendship Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
