Jimmy “Pete” Dermont Brooks, 78, of Lexington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 16, 2023.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Ryan Mendenhall officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm on Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
Pete was born in Davidson County on September 17, 1944, to James Oliver Brooks and Mollie Gregg Brooks. He was a brick mason by trade, a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, and a retired volunteer firefighter/EMT within the community. Pete had an infectious personality, and he never met a stranger. He could tell a story like no one else and was a wonderful depiction of a family man. Pete was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael “Dane” Brooks; and his sister, Linda Sue Davis; and a grandchild, Molleigh Cheyenne Dublin.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Gloria Whittington Brooks; his daughter, Amanda “Mandi” Brooks Dublin; and his precious grandchildren, Addison Faith Dublin, and Grayson Michael Dublin.
