Peter "Pops" Nelson Allen Sr.

Our beloved Father, Peter Nelson Allen Sr. “Pops” , 73, of Veterans Avenue, Lexington passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. A memorial service will be held 2 pm Saturday April 28, 2012 at the home of his daughter on Doc McCullough Road, Lexington and also a second service at his home 5:00 pm Saturday. Mr. Allen was born February 12, 1939 in Hunterton County, New Jersey to Marilda Hendershot Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alexandria (Sandy) Donofrio Allen as well as several brothers and sisters. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, William Hildebrant Jr. Surviving are his sons, Joe Allen and wife, Jill, of Lexington, John Allen and Lisa Trupiano of Michigan and Pete Allen Jr. of Pennsylvania; daughters, Donna Hildebrant and Ramona Powell and husband, James, all of Lexington; brothers, Kenny Burd of New Jersey, Harry Byrd of Florida and Floyd Frank of Lexington; sister, Grace Frank of Florida; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
