Phillip "Bob" Shelton

Phillip “Bob” Robert Shelton, 58, a resident of Lexington, passed away July 26, 2021 in Forsyth Medical Center. Bob was born on August 29, 1962 in Davie County to the late Phillip A. and Alice Shelton. He worked as an electrician for many years. On February 6, 1982 he married Julie Sapp. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp and then later served in the US Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing with his grandkids, camping, and spending time with his family.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021at 11:00AM in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Winston-Salem. The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please direct memorials to the Disabled American Veterans.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of  39 years, Julie Shelton of the home; children, Rob Shelton of Midway, Steve Shelton (Jennifer), of Winston-Salem, and Samantha Shelton Baldwin (Jimmy) of Midway; a brother, Joe Shelton (Gretchen) of Naples, Florida; sisters, Debbie Leatherman of Cooleemee, Toni Wyatt of Salisbury, and Phyllis Shelton Watson (Greg) of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Tre, James, Owen, Lee, and Ava; and many nieces and nephews.
