Phyllis Bess

Ruby Phyllis Bess, age 83, of Park Lane passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Clyde Akers and Pastor Gavin Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service.  Mrs. Bess was born on February 20, 1934 in Rockingham County, NC to Jesse Franklin Swink and Bessie Robbins Swink. She was a homemaker and a member of Wayside Baptist Tabernacle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton Swink and Carl Swink; and two sisters, Jewel Sanders and Jean Swink.   Surviving are her loving husband, Charles Bess of the home; one son, Robert Howard Tysinger Jr. (Jennifer) of Winston Salem; two daughters, Nancy Estep (Joey), and Connie Vernon (Bobby) all of Lexington; three stepsons, Timothy Bess of Lexington, Terry Bess (Gina) and Todd Bess all of Winston; one stepdaughter, Tammy Bess Pressley (Rodney) of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
