Mrs. Phyllis Spurlock Blankenship, age 72 of Lexington passed away November 21, 2014 at Hinkle Hospice House after a long battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 25 at Freedom Baptist Church conducted by Preacher Clyde Akers.
Mrs. Blankenship was born August 20, 1942 in Buchanan County Virginia. She was a loving mother and caregiver to many. She was preceded in death by parents Hobert Spurlock and Agnes Keene, her grandparents Frances and Al Spurlock who raised her. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Raddie Charles and her second husband Harrison Blankenship.
She is survived by her son Terry Charles and wife Sharon of Lexington; sisters Judy (Jackie) Deel of Grundy, Va, Jan (Danny) Godsey of Bluff City, Tn and Ada Spurlock Stacy of Hurley, Va; special cousins Brooks (Bev) Allen of Spokane, Wa and Oscar Spurlock, Jr. and wife Ruby of Hurley, Va. She is also survived by her grand puppy Sampson and a host of loving friends and family members.
