Phyllis Mathis Crotts, age 69 of Crotts Drive, Lexington passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Friday morning November 2, 2018
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until 1:00 PM prior to the service.
Phyllis was born in Swain County March 28, 1949 to Bert Lewis Mathis and Agnes Lenore Thorp Mathis. She was of the Baptist faith and a retired employee of Lexington Home Brands (Young Hinkle Plant). She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Gerald Crotts; a sister Mary Mathis Davis, a brother Arnell Odell Mathis and brother -in-law Gerald Wayne Walser.
Surviving are her daughter, Renee Anderson and husband Brad of Lexington; son, Terry William Pitt, Jr. “T J”; grandchildren, Jessica Petteys (Alan), Whitney Kirkman (Reid), Cody Anderson friend Alexis Freeman, Joshua Anderson fiance’ Annabelle McIntyre, Lacy Anderson and friend Mason Haltom, Javen Pitt, Kadence Pitt and Gage Pitt; great-grandchildren, Chase Petteys, Rylee Anderson, Natalie Petteys, Tayton Anderson, Aubrey Kirkman and Noah Kirkman; brothers, Donald W. Mathis of Salisbury and Ronald W. Mathis of Lexington; sisters, Barbara Jarvis (Richard), Sandra Walser, Linda Gardner (Ronald) and Lisa Yates (Keith) all of Lexington and Delores Doumas (Joe) of Clemmons; sister-in-law, Darlene Mathis of Lexington; 31 nieces and nephews, 46 great-nieces and nephews, 3 great-great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins and her forever friends, Brenda and Phyllis.
