Phyllis Willis

Phyllis Penninger Willis, 76, of Lexington died Saturday, August 12, 2023 at High Point RegionalHospital.

A Celebration of Life for her will be held at at Jersey Baptist Church in Linwood, NC on Friday, August
18th, 2023 at 11:00 with a visitation with the family following.

Mrs. Willis was born in Rowan County December 10, 1946 to the late Charles Harold and Vera Trexler Penninger. A member of Jersey Baptist Church, she was a graduate of Western Carolina University and had retired as a school teacher with the Davidson County School System after 33 years of service.

Surviving are her husband, John Carlton Willis, Jr. of the home; sons Carl Willis (Melissa) of Martinez,GA; Charlie Willis (Lori) of Lexington, NC; daughter Amy McLamb (Dan) of Efland, NC; and brother Nelson Penninger (Teresa) of Lexington. Also surviving are grandchildren Mattie Paige Willis, Juliana Willis, Luke Willis, Kate Willis, Ella Willis, Tess McLamb, and Phillip McLamb.
