Poly Brite Watkins 72 of Old Salisbury Road, Linwood died Saturday at High Point Regional Hospital after a 10 day critical illness. A Funeral Service will be 2 PM Tuesday at Freedom Baptist Church where he was a member conducted by Rev. Clyde Akers and burial to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. He was born December 16, 1935 in Swain County to Arthur Douglas Watkins and Cora Lee Lane Watkins. He retired from Lexington Home Brands. His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife Jessie Hunter Watkins of the home; One Son David Watkins and wife Barbara of Flowery Branch, Georgia: Three daughters; Vicky Buffington and husband Randall of Gainesville Georgia, Lesa Berrier and husband Terry of Churchland and Tina Jenkins of Marion. Three brothers, Albert and Dillard Watkins of Marion and John Watkins of Newton: Three sisters, Elizabeth Sutton of High Point, Vella Styles of Bryson City and Ada Willis of Sylva; Seven Grandchildren, Joshua Watkins. Ross Watkins, Jacob Jenkins, Rebecca Jenkins, Cory Yarboro, Logan Berrier and Houston Berrier. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6-8 pm Monday and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church P.O.
