R L Brown

R L Brown age 80 of Craver Road passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Hinkle Hospice Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Tommy Hepler officiating. There will be no formal visitation. R L was born on July 9, 1933 in Guilford County to William Shields Brown and Minnie Tuttle Brown. He was a member of Leonard Road Baptist Church and worked in the furniture industry most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph and Harrison Brown; sister, Elizabeth Brown Kennedy; children, Larry Michael and Ricky Lee Brown. Surviving are his wife Peggy Hill Brown; children, Cindy Smith (Jan) of Archdale, Lori Windsor of Trinity, Melissia Allred (David) of Trinity, son Jeff Brown (Sherrie) of High Point; step-children, Florecia Johnson (Gary) of High Point, Bunnie Lynn (David) of Welcome, Lugene Ward (Kenny) of Lexington, Mary Finney (Greg) of Linwood; twenty grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
