R. Earl Moretz

R. Earl Moretz, age 83 of Linwood Southmont Road, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning at his home.   Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Cotton Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.    The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday and at other times at the home.   Earl was born in Watauga County June 17, 1929 to Willett H. and Rebecca Revilla Moretz. He was a member of Cotton Grove United Methodist Church and retired employee of Lexington Furniture. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie Tysinger Moretz in 2010 and sisters, Mary, Viola and Goldie Moretz.   Surviving are; son, Rodney Moretz of Lexington; grandchildren, Heather and Tyler Moretz of Lexington; 2 great-grandchildren, Luke and Katelynn; brothers, Howard, J.D. and Paul Moretz all of Lexington.   Online Condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
