Rachel Ellen Leonard Pressley

Rachel Ellen Leonard Pressley, 62, of Carl Pressley Road, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Lexington Memorial Hospital following several years of illness. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Deal and Pastor Jeremy Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Pressley was born May 11, 1947, in Davidson County, to Thomas Ervin Leonard Sr. and Vergie “Sally” Violet Wilson Leonard. She was a member of New Life Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Rayvon Pressley, who died July 20, 1990. Surviving are daughter, Kathy Elliott and husband, William, of Lexington; her mother, of Lexington; two grandchildren, Felicia Elliott and Christin Elliott, both of Lexington; brothers, Ronald Leonard and wife, Kathy, of Lexington, and Ervin Leonard Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Welcome; sisters, Ronda Speight and Janice Campfield, both of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2009, at the funeral home and other times at the home.
