Rachel Myers Taylor

Rachel Christine Myers Taylor, 80, of Western Boulevard, died early Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Myra Ward. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Taylor was born April 8, 1926, in Davidson County to Lee Myers and Lillian Duvelle Gibson Myers. She was a homemaker and a longtime choir member at her church. She was a member of the Davidson County Senior Chorus and a member of the VFW Post 3074 and the American Legion Post 8 Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Von Taylor, on June 3, 1999, and by four brothers, Leland Taylor Myers, Victor Alexander Myers, Donald Myers and Harold Carlton Myers. Surviving are two daughters, Carol Taylor of Jamestown and Kathy Taylor of High Point; three brothers, Clifford Leo Myers of Columbia, S.C., her twin brother, Roland Eugene Myers and his wife, Lain, of Clover, S.C., and Carey Myers and his wife, Shelba, of Tupelo, Miss.; and three sisters, Grace Butler and her husband, Grady, and Doris Myers, all of Lexington, and Carolyn McClannan and her husband, Roy, of Mocksville. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund or budget fund, Attention Donese McBride, Trinity United Methodist Church, 902 S. Main St., Lexington, NC 27292.
