Ralph Dayton Beam, 97, of Lexington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 7, 2023.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at First Lutheran Church in Lexington with the Rev. Matthew Miller officiating. A graveside service will be held at Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton, NC on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 12 noon.


The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.

Mr. Beam was born in Gaston County on April 26, 1926, to Grady Wiley Beam and Myrtle Sellers Beam. He was a WWII Veteran, having served in the Merchant Marines, and was a retired division manager, having worked for Coble Dairy for over 46 years. Mr. Beam was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Lexington and was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jenny Lynn Beam; his brother, William Beam; and two sisters, Mary Lou Kiser, and Bennie Sue Tate.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 75 years, LouEtta Hallman Beam; his sons, Michael Beam (Celia), and Jeffrey Beam (Tammie); a sister, Katherine Mills; three grandchildren, Logan Beam (Kasseady), Nelson Beam, and Kelty Beam; and one great-grandson, Landon Kimbrell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church at 320 South State Street, Lexington, NC  27292.
