Ralph K. Hiatt

Ralph Kerner Hiatt age 89 of Welcome passed away Friday, November, 15, 2013 at Hinkle Hospice Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at – Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. John Beeg presiding. Burial will follow to Forest Hill Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, November 18, 2013 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. Ralph was born May 18, 1924 in Davidson County to U.M. Hiatt and Elizabeth Clemmons Hiatt. He was a charter member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. He retired from Plastiglide Mfg. of High Point and served during WWII in the United States Army. A member of the Welcome Lions Club for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers;Lawrence Hiatt, Leon Hiatt, Johnny Hiatt and Marion Hiatt. Surviving are his wife of 65 years Catherine Berrier Hiatt of the home, son; Tim Hiatt (Tonya) of Midway, daughters; Becky Hiatt of Midway and Cathy Taylor (Bob) of Welcome, grandchildren; Amy Taylor Wiles (Matt), Laura Taylor Spainhour (Chad), great grandchildren; Ethan Wiles and Heidi Spainhour, brother; Joe Hiatt of Thomasville.
