Ralph Arlen Jones, age 76 of Old US Highway 64, Lexington passed away Friday morning at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rev. Eric Disher and Roger Worley officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Honors by VFW Post 3074.
Ralph was born in Davidson County, April 2, 1932 to Grady Lee Jones and Mary Miller Jones. He was a former employee of United Furniture and Stanley Furniture, a graduate of Lexington High School, Class of 1950 and a member of Lexington Community Church. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War, receiving the Korean Service Medal, Bronze Star, National Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of VFW Post 3074. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Gary Jones.
Surviving are: wife, Barbara Harper Jones of the home; two daughters, Teresa J. Davis and husband Doug of Lexington and Sharon J. Kimbrell and husband James of Linwood; one son Russell Arlen Jones and wife Angie of Lexington; four grandchildren, Scott Thornburg, Jamie Waddell and husband Daniel, Lisa Wolfe and husband Col. Josh Wolfe, USMC and Matthew Arlen Jones; one Step-Grandson, Tom Davis and two step-great-grandchildren Will Davis and Tristan House; one sister, Shirley Loflin of Denton; two brothers, Donald W. Jones and Cliff Jones both of Denton.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 5 until 7 pm Sunday and at other times at the home.
